After the founding of New China, there has been further development in form and content. After 1960, I fell into a creative trough. In 1982, Fengning folk paper-cutting team was re-established, and its works had a wide influence at home and abroad with various exhibitions and performances abroad. In 1993, Fengning was named "China Folk Paper-cut Art Town" by the Ministry of Culture. In recent years, Fengning paper-cut has carried out reform and innovation in traditional techniques, pushing the artistic level to a new level, with an annual sales volume of nearly 10 million pieces. Nowadays, there are still hundreds of professional workshops in Fengshan and Dage, and there are nearly 1,000 artists engaged in window grilles. There are markets selling window grilles in the two towns every December.
