Xinglong county, located at the foot of the ancient Great Wall in northern Hebei, is a famous hometown of hawthorn in China. Xinglong hawthorn is a specialty of Xinglong County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. Hawthorn in Xinglong Mountain is famous all over the country for its strong tree potential, excellent quality, bright fruit color, storage resistance, high nutrition and medical care value, and suitability for processing. The high altitude here and the large temperature difference between day and night are conducive to the accumulation of dry matter, which increases the sugar content of hawthorn and the ratio of sugar to acid. The taste of hawthorn is sweeter than that of low altitude areas, and its palatability is greatly improved. Xinglong hawthorn blooms in May. From August to October, the fruit is sweet and sour. In Xinglong County, many enterprises process hawthorn into juice, dew, cake, sauce, candied fruit, etc. Xinglong hawthorn and its products have been rated as provincial excellent products for several years, sold to more than 20 provinces and cities in China, and exported to more than ten countries and regions such as Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, Russia and Hong Kong. In 2013, as recognized by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, "Xinglong Hawthorn" won the certification mark of chinese national geography.
