Xinglong shizi

Xinglong persimmon is a specialty of Xinglong County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. Persimmon is a traditional fruit tree cultivated in Xinglong, which is characterized by being large, sweet as honey, plump and juicy, and golden in color. Live up to the praise of "color is better than gold and clothing, and sweetness is better than jade and liquid". Xinglong specialty persimmon varieties include millstone persimmon and small fire persimmon. It contains glucose, fructose, sucrose, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, iron and other substances. The main producing areas are Bagualing, Sibozi, Racecourse and Douziyu, and there are also sporadic cultivation in other places. Persimmon is a favorite fruit, which can be eaten fresh or dry. It has a certain curative effect on dysentery, dry and hot cough, root bleeding, anemia, etc., and has become a fashionable gift from Xinglong people to relatives and friends. In 2011, the total output of persimmons in the county was 9,163 tons.
