Shacheng Great Wall Wine

Grapes have been planted for more than 800 years. The white milk and longan grapes produced are famous far and wide. In 1976, Huailai was designated as the national wine raw material base, which is the production base of high-grade wine in China since the reform and development. The key scientific research project of light industry, Research on New Technology of Dry White Wine, which was conducted by Food Fermentation Institute and China Great Wall Wine Co., Ltd. (formerly Shacheng Winery), passed the appraisal of the State Science and Technology Commission in December 1983. After comparing with similar foreign high-grade wines, everyone agreed that the imported international famous wine samples reached the international level. In 1979, the Ministry of Young Industry carried out the work of "Selection of Excellent Varieties of Wine Grapes" here, and achieved gratifying results. After more than 20 years of construction, there are more than 80,000 mu of vineyards in the county, including 40,105 mu of longan, with an annual output of 42,635 tons, and 30,164 mu of wine varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling and Chardonnay, with an output of 20,079 tons. China Great Wall Wine Co., Ltd. is a large-scale wine backbone enterprise established by our own technology. Since its establishment, it has realized profits and taxes of 463 million yuan, and its total assets have increased by more than 20 times. Now it has become one of the "three giants" in the whole industry. Driven by leading enterprises, the grape industry in Huaizhuo County has developed rapidly, and 17 wine and grape original wine producers have been built successively, including Longquan Grape Fermentation Co., Ltd., Hebei Jiahe Wine Co., Ltd., Hebei Martin Grape Brewing Co., Ltd., Rongchen Wine Co., Ltd. and Zhangjiakou Hualong Wine Co., Ltd. The production capacity of original grape wine is 150,000 tons, and the brands of finished wine producers have been further promoted. Great Wall, Shacheng, Sanggan River, Huaxi Village, Jiahe, Rongchen, Martin, etc. are all well-known brands to consumers. Because of this, the Sino-French grape planting demonstration farm settled in Huailai, and the Argentine Spadone Group wholly acquired the former Great Wall Fruit Development Company to form Huailai Spadone Winery. In December, 2002, "wine from Shacheng producing area" was protected by the national original regional products. Shacheng Great Wall wine is a geographical indication protection product.
