Located in the Ziyang lake area in the central Hebei plain, it has been rich in fish and reeds since ancient times and is known as the "hometown of fish and reeds". Baiyangdian has a water area of 460,000 mu, including 120,000 mu of reed fields, with an annual output of hundreds of thousands of tons of high-quality reeds. Its reed is white in color, flexible in texture and fine in fiber, which is an ideal raw material for developing reed weaving industry. Reed weaving is a traditional handicraft in Baiyangdian. There are many skilled craftsmen in water towns, and the reed woven products produced by them are not only made of white reed in Baiyangdian, but also have strong local characteristics. The reed woven products exported include five varieties, including vertical curtain, thread curtain, fence curtain and reed ceiling, and 28 article numbers. There are five specifications of vertical curtain, all of which are made of 8 mm thick reed poles connected in series. The thread curtain is made of brown thread rope as the diameter and peeled reed as the weft, which is carefully woven. It is mainly used as a shade curtain and a door curtain of a living room. It is both practical and decorative. The fence curtain is made of reed instead of skin, which is used to change clothes in the beach bathing circle and protect the garden from the wind. Reed ceiling is made by weaving more than two layers of reed into different patterns and then sticking them on plywood. Mainly used as wall panels of rooms and ceilings of roofs. Its patterns include cross pattern, square pattern, triangle pattern, herringbone pattern, pepper eye and so on. The reed ceiling is used to decorate the interior, which makes people feel like they are in the natural scenery.
