Qingyuan watermelon

Qingyuan watermelon is a specialty of Qingyuan County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. Qingyuan Watermelon is the largest watermelon production base in Hebei, with its large, medium and small shapes, rich colors, crisp taste and rich juice, and its sugar content is as high as 13%. Qingyuan County has abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall and fertile land. Watermelon cultivation has a long history. There are many varieties of watermelons planted in Qingyuan: Xin Jing, Xinong, Guanlong, Black Beauty and Xihongbao. The history of watermelon planting in Qingyuan County has reached 30 years, with an annual watermelon planting area of 113,000 mu, a total output of 460,000 tons and an output value of 460 million yuan. In 2002, the watermelon planting base with Nanwangzhuang Village as the core passed the provincial and ministerial level pollution-free environmental assessment certification, and registered the trademark "Xingyuan". Because of the high level of pollution-free standardized planting, it is sold all over the country, and melon farmers increase their income by 5,000-8,000 yuan every year. Qingyuan County was awarded the title of "China Watermelon Pollution-free Science and Technology Innovation Demonstration County" by China Fruit and Vegetable Expert Committee and the Organizing Committee of the 8th China Fruit and Vegetable Industry Development Forum.
