Weixian Yali pear

Weixian Yali pear was planted as early as the Northern Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 1000 years. Mao Tianqi, a magistrate of a county in the Qing Dynasty, once wrote a poem "The long wind resounds with pear leaves, and Qiu Guang travels all over the original port". Suitable soil and water conditions and advanced cultivation techniques have created the excellent quality of Weixian Yali pear. Its fruit shape is correct, its skin is big and thin, its juice is juicy and fleshy, its dregs are few and its core is small, its sweetness and sourness are moderate, it is crisp and delicious, and it has the functions of quenching thirst, moistening lung and nourishing skin. Weixian Yali pear, which is well-known in ancient and modern times and at home and abroad, was once used as a tribute for dignitaries in the Qing Dynasty. In 1985, at the fruit quality appraisal meeting in Hebei Province, Weixian Yali won the first prize in Yali series. In 1995, Wei County was named as the "Hometown of Yali Pears in China" by the Ministry of Agriculture. At present, 150,000 mu of Yali pear is planted in the county, with an annual output of 83,000 tons.
