Linzhang Rex Rabbit is a specialty of Linzhang County, Handan City, Hebei Province. The main breeding varieties in Linzhang County are American Rex Rabbit, French Rex Rabbit and German Rex Rabbit. The improved varieties of Linzhang Rex Rabbit have been radiated all over the country, and the rabbit meat and rabbit skin products of leading enterprises are exported to the United States, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Canada, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and other countries and regions. Linzhang County is a big county for breeding rex rabbits. As early as 1997, the county party committee and government organized experts' demonstration for many times according to the actual situation of the county and the advantages of breeding and market demand, and established the characteristic industry of rex rabbits. In the past ten years, the government has taken active and effective measures to guide and support, introduced superior species, hired experts, and formulated assistance and preferential policies, so that the rex rabbit industry has developed rapidly. By the end of 2005, there were 25,200 rabbit farmers in the county, with an annual population of 1.03 million rex rabbits and 510 large-scale breeding households or farms with more than 200 rabbits. Ten leading enterprises such as Linying Rabbit Industry Co., Ltd., Tianyi Fur Products Co., Ltd., Jiangsen Rabbit Industry Development Co., Ltd., Xinya Fur Industry Development Center, Hengda Fur Industry Co., Ltd., Changshan Food Co., Ltd., Huayuan Rabbit Industry Service Center, Liuyuan Nitrate Dyeing Factory and Yumu Rabbit Breeding Farm have been built in the county, among which Linying Rabbit Industry Co., Ltd. is the key leading enterprise of provincial agricultural industrialization, Tianyi Fur Products Co., Ltd. and Jiangsen Rabbit Industry Development Co., Ltd. are the municipal agricultural enterprises. The enterprise buys 1.2 million commercial rex rabbits, processes 1,600 tons of rabbit meat, and produces 61,000 pieces of fur clothing. Linying brand grilled rabbits are provincial famous brand products, and the fur clothing products of Skanbel and Valtel are exported to Italy, France, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions. The output value of the enterprise is 250 million yuan, the foreign exchange earned by export is 8.2 million dollars, the profit and tax are 19.6 million yuan, and the total output value of rex rabbit industry is 450 million yuan.
