As early as the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, it has become a famous local product and is known as "Shimen Walnut is the world's treasure". Shimen Walnut has been exported to foreign countries since the end of Qing Dynasty, and sold to more than 20 countries and regions such as Japan, Germany, Britain and Canada. With its excellent quality, Shimen Walnut has formed the brand in the international trade market, and it is also the only brand that can compete with the famous American brand "Diamond Walnut". "Shimen Walnut" has been included in the textbooks of colleges and universities compiled by China and books on walnut production, cultivation, processing and sales. In 2006, the first fruit exhibition and evaluation meeting in Hebei Province won the gold medal, and the 10th China (Langfang) Agricultural Products Fair was appraised as a famous product. The 1950s and 1970s were the golden period of walnut production in lulong county. The county's walnut cultivation area was more than 10,000 mu, with an annual output of 500 tons, more than half of which were exported. In 1957, the national walnut production site meeting was held in Lulong. As an advanced model of walnut management, lulong county spoke at the meeting and introduced the practices and experiences of walnut management in the county. After that, the production of walnuts in the county has been steadily improved, the cultivation area has been expanded, and the yield and quality have been continuously improved. "Shimen Walnut" is mainly produced in Shimen Town and mu jing xiang, lulong county, Hebei Province. There are Dongyangzhuang No.5 and Gaogezhuang No.4 selected by Changli Fruit Tree in Hebei Province, which belong to typical Shimen walnut type. In addition, excellent strains include Tianqiao No.1 in Hebei, Quli No.3, Yanjiatai No.1 in Beijing, Daguo in Fenzhou, Qinyou No.2 and No.3 in Shanxi. In many years' production practice, an excellent farmer variety "Shimen Walnut" has been cultivated. The walnut produced has the characteristics of large size, rich kernel, thin skin, easy access to kernels, high content of fat and protein, and sweet flavor. The nut is round, with a single fruit weight of 13-15 grams and a shell thickness of 1.2 mm, which can be whole, with a fat content of about 77%, a kernel weight of 7.5 grams and a kernel rate of 50. The tree has medium potential, and the fruit branch rate is 75%. It belongs to male selection and strong resistance, and it belongs to both kernel and oil varieties. The fruit ripens at the end of August. Shimen walnut is a geographical indication protection product.
