Lycium Qinglong

Qinglong Lycium barbarum is a specialty of Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. Qinglong Lycium barbarum is big in grain, red in color, thick in meat, soft in quality, few in seeds and sweet in taste. Qinglong is a mountainous county, located in the eastern part of Yanshan Mountains in Hebei Province. Its special geographical location and mountainous microclimate have created unique environmental conditions such as large temperature difference between day and night, long sunshine time and no pollution. Coupled with acidic high-quality soil, it has become the cradle of more than 450 kinds of wild Chinese herbal medicines. In the mid-1970s, farmers in Qiuzhangzi village of this county began to domesticate and plant local wild species of Lycium barbarum. The produced Lycium barbarum has the characteristics of small pit and pulp, low sugar content and high medicinal value, and it has more special excellent quality than Ningxia Lycium barbarum, and is gradually favored by more and more consumers. Up to now, the planting area of Lycium barbarum in the county has reached 22,000 mu. A hundred miles of Lycium barbarum has been built in Mutoudeng Town, Gangou, Dawulan and Fenghuang Mountain, which is the main production area of Lycium barbarum in Qinhuangdao City, and its products are mainly sold to Japan, South Korea and other Southeast Asian regions.
