According to "Laoting County Records", Laoting Baimiao broom has a history of hundreds of years, and it had a considerable scale in the middle of Qing Dynasty. Before 1937, there was a shop in Laoting City specializing in the acquisition and processing of brooms, which was called Zhonglihe Firm. White seedling broom is made of sticky sorghum seedlings in the north (sticky sorghum ears are threshed and shelled). The tying technique is not secret. A short sickle with a slight bend and a wire rope with the thickness of a sack line are the main tools. The tying knot is made of thin iron wire, rubber wire or nylon rope and tied into six strands, with the first five and the last one in the shape of garlic strands. White Miao broom can be used in different sizes, such as ground use and kang use. It has the characteristics of strong workmanship, moderate flexibility and beautiful appearance. It is often used as a gift for relatives and friends, and has a long-standing reputation in the domestic and international markets. Laoting White Miao broom is not only sold to Beijing, Tianjin, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan and northeast provinces, but also exported to Japan and some countries in Southeast Asia.
