Peach In August 2001, Laoting County was named "Taoxiang, China" by the State Forestry Administration. Laoting County, Hebei Province is located on the Bohai Sea in the southeast of Tangshan City. It is beautiful and rich, with convenient transportation. The Tanggang Expressway goes directly to Tangshan and radiates across the country. Laoting County has an area of 150,000 mu of fresh peaches, with an annual output of 23,000 tons of fresh peaches and an annual output value of 380 million yuan. The output value of fresh peaches accounts for 22% of the total agricultural output value, and its output and benefit rank first in the province. Laoting's coastal geographical location and climatic conditions make the production of fresh peaches have the natural advantage of wrong season. Once peaches were cheap and hurt farmers, which was the bitter fruit of single variety, backward production mode and centralized listing. Laoting Forestry Bureau repositioned the production of fresh peaches and found a way to improve varieties and develop off-season production to fill the off-season of the market. In 2002, Laoting produced SOD longevity peaches and bought out patents. "Lefeng" brand fresh peaches were recognized as "green food-products" by the National Green Food Development Center, and all fruits were registered with "Lefeng" trademark. In recent years, the forestry department of this county has taken the initiative to serve the farmers, and continuously sent science and technology to the farmers. While guiding the fruit farmers to continuously improve the varieties of fresh peaches, they also developed fresh peaches in greenhouses, so that the income of fruit farmers has increased steadily year after year. At present, Laoting County has developed more than 30,000 mu of fresh peaches in greenhouses, and the annual net income per mu of growers exceeds 10,000 yuan. In the cultivation of peaches in Laoting County, white flesh peaches account for more than 70%. Early-maturing peaches include: Yuhualu, Qingfeng, Beijing No.1, Annong Shuimi, Zaoyan, Nectarine, Zaofengwang and Jinghong (from July 5 to July 22). Mid-mature peaches are: Dajiubao and Wanjiubao (from July 22nd to August 15th). Late-maturing peaches are: Beijing No.14, No.24, Greening No.9, Chongyang Red, and Red Mannan (around August 20th).
