Nansunzhuang Township is located in the west of Fengnan District, bordering Ninghe County, Tianjin. The township governs 28 administrative villages with a population of 22,000, with a total area of 93 square kilometers and 70,000 mu of cultivated land. Nansunzhuang Township is a traditional pepper producing area. It has invested more than 15 million yuan to carry out large-scale transformation of low-and medium-yield fields, improving agricultural production conditions; Vigorously implement the "superior seed project", and introduce more than 10 new varieties with high yield, high spicy degree and virus resistance, such as Tianying pepper, Wangdu pepper, Yidu pepper and Jiucunhong, which has accelerated the pace of updating traditional pepper varieties, and the popularization rate of superior pepper varieties in the township has reached over 95%. At present, the peppers produced in this township are mainly sold to Tianjin, Beijing and Northeast China, and its leading variety, Tianying Pepper, is favored by merchants such as Japan and South Korea for its strong color, high spicy degree and pure quality, and its products are in short supply. In 2005, the whole township planted 13,000 mu of peppers, producing 2,700 tons of dried peppers and 4,500 tons of fresh peppers. In order to extend the pepper industry chain and improve the level of industrialized operation, Tangshan Huacheng Food Co., Ltd., Nansunzhuang Township Pepper Wholesale Market and other leading agricultural enterprises and agricultural and sideline products wholesale bases with high industrial relevance and strong radiation driving ability have been built in this township. Tangshan Huacheng Food Co., Ltd. has an annual output of 800 tons of Chili powder and 500 tons of dried Chili, with an output value of more than 50 million yuan, which drives the planting area of the base to more than 5,000 mu. Vigorously cultivate the team of brokers, the township pepper distribution brokers reached 300 people, with an annual sales of more than 3,000 tons of peppers.
