Golden jujube has been planted in Jinghai County, Tianjin for more than 600 years. In recent years, Jinghai County Party Committee and county government have taken the market as the guide, intensified the adjustment of forestry structure in view of the local agricultural development status, and regarded the construction of economic forest as the leading industry to increase farmers' income and make the people rich. According to the development layout of "Nanzao, Beiguo, Dongjing and Xilin", they have highlighted regional characteristics and paid close attention to the construction of economic forests, adding nearly 100 jujube trees every year. In 2004, the State Forestry Administration recently announced the evaluation results of the third batch of famous and excellent economic forests in China. After local recommendation and expert evaluation, 73 counties (cities, districts) were named as "the hometown of famous and excellent economic forests in China". Jinghai County, Tianjin is named "the hometown of China golden jujube" with absolute superiority. In 2008, the planting area of jujube trees in Jinghai County was more than 200,000 mu, with an annual output of more than 45 million kilograms and an output value of nearly 200 million yuan. There were more than 20 farmers whose annual income reached 100,000 yuan by planting jujube. Jujube planting has become one of the important channels for farmers to get rich and increase their income.
