This variety is named "Wuyeqi" because it keeps five green leaves all the time during its growth, such as fingers open, leaves upward and leaves on both sides of the heart leaf are equal in height. The outstanding advantages of this variety are as follows: 1. The plant is tall and long. Plant height is 120-150 cm. The diameter of scallion is 3-5 cm, the length of Tay is about 45cm, and the weight of each plant is 0.4-1 kg. 2. High yield. Excellent commodity characteristics; Its growth is rapid and its yield is high, with an average yield of 5000 kg per mu and a maximum yield of 7000 kg/mu. 3. Wide adaptability. This variety is superior to other cultivated varieties in this area in cold tolerance, heat tolerance, drought tolerance and waterlogging tolerance. 4. Good taste. The scallion is plump, tender, non-tillering, slightly sweet and spicy, and both raw and cooked are good. 5. Strong storage resistance. The storage resistance of this variety has incomparable advantages over other varieties, and it can be stored until next April, so it is the best variety to eat dried onion in winter. Baodi County Vegetable Company established a 200-mu breeding base and adopted the adult plant breeding method, and cultivated more than 4,000 kilograms of "Wuyeqi" varieties annually, which were introduced and cultivated in this county and more than ten provinces and cities such as Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Hebei and Shanxi. At present, the planting area of "Wuyeqi" green onion in our county is maintained at about 50,000 to 70,000 mu all the year round (the introduction area from other places is more than 100,000 mu), the commodity volume reaches 180,000 tons, and the annual sales amount is 144 million yuan, which is the largest cash crop in our county.
