Taitou watermelon

Taitou Town, Jinghai County, Tianjin has been known as the "Land of Fish and Rice" since ancient times, especially the rich watermelon is favored by consumers in Beijing and Tianjin. In the 21st century, with the popularization and application of new varieties and technologies, Taitou watermelon has made great progress, especially the successful introduction of grafted watermelon in cold shed, which not only solves the serious problem of watermelon continuous cropping disease, but also changes the history that watermelon can only be eaten in summer. In order to make consumers buy real Taitou watermelons, Taitou Town Watermelon Cooperative registered "Honglifu" brand watermelons in the industrial and commercial department in 2006, which enabled it to have double insurance. All Taitou watermelons appearing in the market in 2007 had their own ID cards. In December, 2010, upon examination by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, it was decided to protect Taitou Watermelon with geographical indications. Scope of Origin "Taitou Watermelon" geographical indication products are protected in the administrative areas under the jurisdiction of five towns and villages in Jinghai County, Tianjin, including Taitou Town, Duliu Town, Liangtou Town, wang kou zhen and Liangwangzhuang Township.
