According to legend, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty once ate sheep's eye steamed buns, so he became famous. Because it is small like a sheep's eye, it is called a sheep's eye steamed stuffed bun. Although the steamed stuffed bun is small, it has various fillings and is very popular among people. Sheep's eye steamed stuffed bun is a good food in Hui people's diet. According to legend, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty once dressed up outside the front door and tasted the sheep's eye steamed stuffed bun from the Muslim mutton steamed stuffed bun shop. Emperor Kangxi walked into the mutton bun shop, and the attentive Hui shopkeeper brought two cups of tea with a small tray. After greeting Emperor Kangxi, he said with a smiling face, "I'm not afraid of being annoyed. I haven't tasted any delicacies in the palace, and I've stooped to taste sheep's eye steamed buns. I really dare not be filial." Kangxi knew that his identity had been discovered, but he still pretended to eat steamed stuffed buns. The shopkeeper had no choice but to say, "I am so grateful that I must eat it. Please wait a little." In a short time, hot buns were delivered. Kangxi put one on the plate with chopsticks and observed it carefully. I just felt the fragrance smell, and when I put it in my mouth, it was delicious and the texture was unusual. However, Emperor Kangxi looked around and didn't see the "sheep eye", so he asked the shopkeeper, "Why can't you see the sheep eye?" The shopkeeper replied quickly, "If you return to the Lord, you are guilty and dare not cheat: the stuffing is not sheep's eye, but it is made more finely, and the size of the bag is smaller, like a sheep's eye, so it is named' sheep's eye steamed stuffed bun'." Kangxi tasted two of them and found them very delicious, so he sent a message: "I think Yangyaner steamed buns are very good. You can always send them to the palace and ask the internal affairs office to open a bank." Since then, yangyaner steamed stuffed bun has become famous in Beijing. As a result, Muslims in all parts of the four cities made sheep's eye buns, which became a favorite food for Muslims.
