In 1984, Xihongmen radish with "beautiful leaves and beautiful heart" was recognized as an excellent variety by Beijing Crop Variety Approval Committee. Xihongmen Village sent the radish with "beautiful heart" to Laoshe Teahouse for everyone to taste. It was exported to Japan for the first time in 1991, with a planting area of more than 5,000 mu, and the planting range also extended from Xihongmen south to Gaomidian to villages near Huangcun.
