Hong cun Jujube, a specialty of Daxing District, is also called "hong cun Crispy Jujube" and "Gongzao", which is named after it is produced in hong cun, Huangcun Town. It is big and thin, with a small core and a lot of meat. It is thin, sweet and crisp, with a cylindrical fruit and a reddish-brown peel. The single fruit weighs 7 grams, with a longitudinal diameter of 3.15 cm and a transverse diameter of 2.21 cm. During the Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, hong cun Jujube was well-known in Beijing. Empress Dowager Cixi once gave this jujube to foreign envoys and ministers in the DPRK, so hong cun jujube is called "tribute jujube". This jujube is divided into white and yellow (the villagers call it white mouth and yellow mouth), especially white mouth, and the fruit is crisp and cracked when it falls to the ground. 100 grams of fresh fruit contains 10.9 grams of fructose, 14.33 grams of sucrose, 25.33 grams of whole sugar and C437.18 grams of vitamin C. The existing tree is more than 500 years old. Hong cun jujube is one of the fruit tree varieties being excavated and rescued by Beijing Municipal Government.
