Jingxi rice, namely "Jingxi Saigon rice", is mainly produced in Ximafang Dongmafang, Shangzhuang Town, Haidian District, western Beijing. Jingxi rice is a thousand-year-old Jingxi rice produced by ecological planting and production. It is a subspecies of japonica rice, with round grains, crystal clear and bright. The steamed rice is sweet, tender, soft and delicious, especially suitable for cooking porridge. The soup is smooth and fragrant, but the rice grains are not scattered. The producing area is near Yuquan Mountain, with fertile soil and high soil organic matter content. It is irrigated by spring water, with stable water temperature and small difference between water temperature and air temperature. It is suitable for normal growth and development of rice, with high seed setting rate, low chalkiness rate and excellent rice quality. The main rice producing area in the west of Beijing is located near the Ximafang rice planting base in Shangzhuang Town, Haidian District, which is close to the Cuihu Wetland with good ecological environment. According to historical records, it has been planted for more than 300 years. In those days, Emperor Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, brought back improved varieties of rice with Zijin hoop, and tried planting them in the west of Beijing. The Gu Mi produced was for the palace to eat, so it was also known as "Gong Mi". Planting began as early as the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the rice field area developed during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, brought back the improved varieties of Zijin hoop rice, and tried planting them in the west of Beijing, called Yutian; The rice produced is for the palace to eat, and it is called Gong Mi. After the founding of New China, the ecological environment of paddy fields was improved through soil improvement and water control, and high-yield and high-quality varieties were selected to purify and rejuvenate improved varieties, and improved varieties such as Yinfang, Shuiyuan300, Gold and Platinum were successively popularized. In 1976, Yuefu was selected as the main spring rice variety with one crop per year. Since 2006, "Qiu Guang" has been selected as the main rice variety after wheat. We will expand the trial planting of "Xingshi" high-quality new varieties in a small area, and at the same time plant a small number of special varieties such as aromatic rice. After the completion of the Jingmi Canal, the planting area has gradually expanded from Haidian Township to Sijiqing Township, Yongfeng Township, Wenquan Township, Bei 'anhe Township, Sujiasuo and Northeast Wang Farm.
