Beijing woven carpets are divided into two categories: carpets and tapestries. Beijing carpets are made of fine wool, firmly woven, neatly cut, soft and comfortable, with quiet colors and quaint patterns. There are two kinds of patterns: Beijing style, Dunhuang style, picking branches and plain convex style. Beijing-style carpets are generally patterned with eight treasures, Bo Gu and dragon and phoenix, and Beijing can also buy high-quality products from carpet producing areas such as Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
